About the Book

Temri Varek expects a damp archive wall and an ordinary repair.

Instead, the plaster falls away to reveal a street in gray light, a place larger than the building that contains its entrance.

The street belongs to Averek Ward, a district tied to a disputed investigation from thirty years ago. Temri's old field tool pulls toward it. Maps disagree about where its roads should run. A mentor who once investigated the ward has reasons to fear what has returned.

Then someone starts taking pieces out.

A collector has found another entrance and is removing plates, stones, and civic anchors before anyone understands what they do. Each extraction changes the ward. Doors shift. Routes stop agreeing. Streets begin to come apart.

Temri, Daran, Ressa, and an independent conservator must work from damaged records, conflicting witnesses, and a city that refuses to fit one clean map.

If the past returns differently from the record, which one gets corrected?

An archaeological fantasy mystery about impossible streets, contested history, preservation, and the danger of owning what should be understood.
